Kyrgyzstan: judge was forced to release Almazbek Atambaev from prison

Violence was used against the judge of Pervomaisky court of Bishkek, as a result of which he signed a decree on changing the measure of restraint for Almazbek Atambaev. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security.

On October 10, Almazbek Atambaev was detained and placed in the detention center of the State Committee for National Security on the basis of the court verdict in the case of the illegal release of Aziz Batukaev. At the same time, the judicial authorities are considering the criminal case on the events of 2019 in Koi-Tash.

“During the events on the night of October 5-6, a violence was used against the judge of Pervomaisky court of Bishkek, as a result of which he signed a decree on changing the measure of restraint under pressure,” the State Committee emphasizes.

On this fact, the interdepartmental investigation group is investigating pre-trial proceedings and considering the issue of canceling the above decision.
