Kyrgyzstan: Minister of Finance is accused of massive infections of doctors during the COVID-19 pandemic

The staff of the Ministry of Finance expressed no confidence in Minister Baktygul Zheenbaeva. This is stated in the widespread message.

According to them, the Minister is guilty of massive infections of doctors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“On instructions from Baktygul Zheenbaeva, untimely financing of the health care system was carried out in January-April of this year. This led to massive infection of medical workers and loss of human lives due to the lack of the personal protective equipment, as well as to the purchase of drugs at overestimated prices. Thus, it caused a huge damage to the country’s budget,” said the team.

In their opinion, Zheenbaeva has not yet been held accountable for her actions only because she is a protégé and close person of the President Sooronbai Jeenbekov.

“Baktygul Zheenbaeva has no moral right to occupy this position, and the team does not want to work under her leadership in the future,” the appeal concludes.
