Kyrgyzstan: deputy head of bankruptcy department arrested for giving a bribe

On September 29, for giving a bribe to an official of $ 1.25 thousand (100 thousand soms), the deputy director of the department for bankruptcy under the Ministry of Economy was detained red-handed in his office. The State Committee for National Security informs about it.

“It has been found that officials of the Bankruptcy Department have established a stable corruption scheme for the withdrawal of assets of bankrupt organizations at an underestimated cost,” the State Committee said.

It is noted that the money was intended for a special administrator of the department for voluntary resignation. He refused to take part in the illegal understatement of the assets of the enterprise, in respect of which the bankruptcy procedure was introduced.

“During the search in the office of the detainee, $ 16.7 thousand (1.3 million soms) were found, the origin of which is under investigation,” the State Committee for National Security added.

The materials of the pre-trial proceedings are registered in the Unified Register of Misdemeanors and Crimes under Article 328 “Bribe Giving” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The detainee was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security.
