Turkmenistan: Berdymukhamedov dissatisfied with corruption in the Interior Ministry

A dark cloud is hovering over the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan Mammetkhan Chakyev. President, Berdymukhamedov on September 21, gave him a stern reprimand with a final warning.

This is the first reprimand to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for an incomplete year of work as minister. According to the independent media of Turkmenistan, the reason for such a sharp discontent of the head of state was the high level of corruption in the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the growth of nepotism and criminal activity in the country as a whole.

As it turned out, Chakyev, using his position and powers, appointed his relatives and friends to significant and monetary posts in organizations and departments of the Ahal velayat, which led to several serious conflicts in the ministries and departments of the country.

At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs signed orders for promotion in rank and position only for those officers who paid for his signature from $ 10 thousand and above. And the cost of the post of the head of the prison costs from $ 100 thousand and more. Also in the country, the crime rate has sharply increased.

Let us remind you that the former Interior Minister Mulikov was arrested and convicted of accepting bribes on an especially large scale. During a search of his house, a huge amount of jewelry, large sums of money, and expensive cars were found.

The Turkmen security forces are considered the most corrupt structures in the country, and Turkmenistan ranks last in terms of corruption in the reports of NGO and human rights activists.
