Kyrgyzstan: a judge was detained while receiving a bribe

Officers of the State Committee for National Security detained the chairman of the Kara-Suu district court of the Osh region on suspicion of extortion.

Based on the statement of a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, the materials of pre-trial proceedings were registered in the Unified Register of Misdemeanors and Crimes on the grounds of a crime provided for in Article 326 of Part 2 Extortion of a bribe of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It was established that the chairman of the Kara-Suu district court of Osh region extorted money from a citizen for making a positive court decision.

“As a result of the investigative and operational measures, the chairman of the Kara-Suu district court of the Osh region was detained red-handed while receiving money,” the State Committee for National Security informs.
