Kyrgyzstan: ex-Minister of Health detained on suspicion of corruption

Ex-Minister of Health Kosmosbek Cholponbaev was detained on suspicion of negligence and abuse of office. This was reported by the press service of the Financial Police.

The State Service for Combating Economic Crimes has opened a criminal case on suspicion of negligence and abuse of office in relation to officials of the Ministry of Health of the Republic.

It was found that the leaders of the ministry, abusing their official position, as well as against the interests of the people and the state, entered into an unprofitable contract for the provision of consulting services, which caused damage to the state budget of about $ 114,000 (9 million soms).
