According to the adopted resolution of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, the deputies will work with voters in the regions from September 4 to October 2 this year. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance has already announced that the salaries of the people’s representatives will be paid in full, even though they will not perform their direct duties.
On September 9 of this year, the Ministry of Finance of the republic published the cash plan of the republican budget for September. The document stipulates the expenses for the maintenance of the parliament in total $ 689.5 thousand. That is, the obligations to parliamentarians on wages and other expenses will be fully fulfilled.
“We see today in the regions that all the deputies who are candidates for parliamentary elections are in fact engaged in campaigning for their new parties, and not in real work with voters,” human rights activists of the United World (Bir Duino) movement are outraged.
Mostly they draw the public’s attention to the fact that the election campaign of the deputies will be paid for from the budget.
“We believe that the campaign of the current deputies should not be carried out at the expense of the financial resources of our taxpayers. In this regard, we urge the people’s representatives to act honestly and under the principles of good governance, to give up their salaries for September 2020 and return them to the budget of Kyrgyzstan, ”they say.
