Kyrgyzstan: civil servant detained while accepting bribe

An employee of the Avtomobil (Unaa) state institution was detained, who extorted money from employees of territorial divisions in exchange for the extension of labor contracts. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security.

“On September 3, an assistant to the director of a state institution was detained in the office while receiving a bribe of $2,000. For a long time he unjustifiably threatened a lower-ranking employee of the territorial administration with termination, ”this is how the State Committee explained the details of the detention.

Currently, within the framework of pre-trial proceedings, measures are being taken to establish similar facts of extortion in a state institution, as well as to establish the involvement of other employees in the corruption scheme.
