Tajikistan: two officers from the State Committee for National Security detained by the Anti-Corruption Agency

According to the press center of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the head of the Health Department of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan (SCNS), colonel Chiyonhon Azizov and the deputy commander of the military unit of the SCNS border troops in the Pyanj region, Colonel Mirzodavlat Usmonzoda were detained on suspicion of taking bribes.

It is reported that on July 30, A. Umarova complained to the anti-corruption department, stating that Colonel Usmonzoda demanded a large sum of money from her for release from military service due to the illness of her relative.

“In total, the colonel received $ 1,500 from citizen Umarova,” the anti-corruption agency reported. – Colonel Azizov demanded money from the victim and received a total of $ 1.7 thousand.

Recall that on August 18, it became known about the arrest of the anti-corruption department colonel Jonibek Mahmadzoda while receiving a bribe by the State Committee for National Security.

Experts in Tajikistan call the ongoing events a war between law enforcement structures that has been going on for many years.
