Kyrgyzstan: ex-Minister of Health summoned for interrogation in the corruption case

Cosmosbek Cholponbaev, ex-Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, was called for questioning by the investigative unit of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes on corruption and lobbying the interests of individual pharmaceutical companies. This was reported by the press service of the Financial Police Department.

It is noted that the interrogation will be carried out as part of pre-trial proceedings registered in the Unified Register in March of this year, concerning officials of the Ministry of Health.

In particular, we are talking about the fact that the responsible persons of the Ministry through state tenders purchased personal protective equipment for doctors in connection with the outbreak of COVID-19 is ten times more expensive than market value.

According to ACCA in the financial police, Cosmosbek Cholponbaev was summoned for interrogation as part of the case under investigation. At the same time, they did not specify in what capacity the official was summoned for questioning.
