Kyrgyzstan: criminal case against famous blogger was dismissed

The criminal case against the administrator of the group “BespredelKG” [“Lawlessness KG”] was officially dismissed. This was announced by blogger Aftandil Zhorobekov on his Facebook page.

He was accused of inciting inter-regional strife because of his posts on social networks in the group “BespredelKG” [“Lawlessness KG”], where he is the administrator.

“This criminal case would take a completely different direction, if you didn’t support me. During the first days of my stay in the pre-trial detention center, they put strong pressure on me. Only 4-5 days after the dissatisfaction arose in society and social networks, the attitude towards me was changed,” wrote Zhorobekov.

The young man said that he would continue to fight with those who want to control the people through intimidation and persecution.

Recall that Aftandil Zhorobekov was detained on November 24, 2019 and placed in the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS for 12 days. In early December, he was released under house arrest. The State Committee for National Security suspected the blogger of inciting ethnic strife because of his post, which caused a stormy discussion on social networks.
