In Karakol, the prosecutor ‘s senior assistant was detained when receiving a bribe of $2000 (150 000 KGS). This was reported by the State Committee for National Security of the republic.
On May 22, during the operational-search measures, the prosecutor’s senior assistant of Djety-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region was caught red-handed while taking a bribe.
“It was established that the senior assistant to the prosecutor extorted money in the amount of $2000 from the citizen for a positive resolution of the issue related to the mitigation of punishment in a criminal case against the applicant’s son,” the State Committee specified.
Materials of pre-trial proceedings are registered in the register of misconduct and crimes under article 326 of part 2 “Extortion of a bribe” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It is noted that the detainee was placed in the temporary detention center of the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic. An investigation is underway.
