Kazakhstan: judge and prosecutor, breaking quarantine regime, relaxed in sauna

Another fact of the stay of high-ranking Kazakh officials in the sauna during the state of emergency was revealed in Kazakhstan. A video from the sauna, located in the village of Saryozek in Kerbulak district of Almaty region, appeared on YouTube. The video captured the drunk chairman of the District court of Kerbulak, Dinmukhamed Seitov, and the prosecutor of Panfilov district of Almaty region, Sayan Shalgimbayev.

The shooting in the sauna was not made by law enforcement officers, who are required to monitor compliance with the state of emergency in the country, during which it is forbidden to visit such places, but one of the guests.

Apparently, the video was recorded and sent to someone of the friends of those who steamed in the sauna, and this person leaked it to the network.

“Guys, OCG’s members (ACCA note: it’s the organized crime group), today my brother Sayan from Zharkent came to me and we are resting. We came to the sauna,” says the old man in the video frame.

Then the author of the video encircles the room with a smartphone, the chairman of the District court of Kerbulak, obviously in a state of intoxication and the prosecutor of Panfilov district, appeared in the frame.

“Guys! Don’t think that only you have a rest in Astana and Almaty. We are also resting in the wilderness in Saryozek,” the man boastfully declares and continues the tour of the bath complex. “Here is the room that you, OCG’s guys, like very much. It’s a good room. This room is the most important in the sauna (he shows the room, where the bed stands). Then we move on: here you wash, and here you do pilling and massage. And here’s the steam room.”

Finishing the video, the author concludes that although they are in the interior of the country, they know how to relax normally.

The video has already caused a flurry of indignation in the Internet community of Kazakhstan. People are outraged that the servants of Themis and law enforcement agencies not only violate the quarantine regime, but also boast of it.

Over the past month, this is not the first case of violation of the state of emergency by public servants. As ACCA reported, on April 18, police officers found employees of the Regional Anti-Corruption Department in the bath complex “Izbushka” in Akmola region. On Instagram posts published by @kokshetauasia, there was the head of the investigative department of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Akmola region, Ruslan Turgambekov, who tried to explain to the police, who were carrying out the raid on complying with the state of emergency, that there was no offense in being at the bathhouse.

Despite this, an official check was carried out with respect to the bath lovers. According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the head of the department of Akmola region, Ruslan Turgambekov and his subordinate investigators [N. Murzageldin, A. Kagarman, Zh. Akmoldin and B. Lukmanov] were dismissed on negative grounds without the right to work in the future at the state and law enforcement service.

Whether the same fate will overtake bath lovers from Almaty region is still unknown. However, the Prosecutor General’s office has already stated that an official investigation has been launched on this fact.

“A video is being distributed in social networks and the media, the author of which says that he is allegedly in the sauna with a judge and a prosecutor. An internal investigation is being conducted by the Department of Internal Investigations of the General Prosecutor’s office on this fact,” the press service of the department said.

In addition, the supervisor recommended that citizens “do not make early conclusions” until verification.
