Authorities of Tajikistan have intentionally allowed pandemic to reduce pensionary payments

The Tajik government has recognized that there are coronavirus cases in the country, with a new stamp. However, according to their data, only 15 people got sick.

During an emergency meeting of the country’s government, the authorities nevertheless decided to declare that there is a coronavirus in Tajikistan. At the same time, it was stated that the detected virus is a new stamp, and not a few thousand were infected, but only 15 people. By the decision of the republican headquarters, from May 4, the summer holidays were announced for students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd universities’ grade level. Earlier, schools were sent for extraordinary holidays. Also, by the decision of the headquarters, the wearing of protective masks is now obligatory for all citizens of the country.

Meanwhile, all hospitals in the country are crowded with patients with coronavirus. According to various sources, their number has reached 3000. In addition, many patients continue to be at home, as there are no places in hospitals. The number of deaths from coronavirus has reached about 100 people.

A source in the Ministry of Health told ACCA that the decision to recognize the existence of a coronavirus in the country was political in connection with the forthcoming visit of the delegation of the World Health Organization (WHO) to the country.

“All this time we report to the country’s leadership that the situation is getting out of control and that urgent measures are urgently needed. No one wanted to listen to us,” the source said. “I have repeatedly spoken with various officials that the country’s leadership should take action, but everyone understood that the decision was made at the highest level, and they were afraid to raise this question.”

The source also stated that there is no new stamp of coronavirus in Tajikistan.

“This version was invented to justify the inaction of the authorities all this time,” the official noted. “As you know, the Ministry of Health has repeatedly stated that numerous tests for coronavirus gave a negative result. Now, in order to justify the lie, the authorities came up with a version with a new stamp. Now we can somehow take control of the situation, but I’m afraid the time is lost and soon we will begin the same epidemic as in Italy and the USA.”

In the interview with ACCA, a senior official in the Tajik government said that the country’s leadership initially had other goals.

“As far as I know, the inaction of the country’s leadership was connected with allowing the coronavirus to infect the maximum number of citizens of the country, especially old and disabled, who are at particular risk,” the official emphasized. “Thus, the authorities intended to reduce the amount of pension payments and disability benefits. After all, the fewer old and disabled people, the less money they need to allocate for them from the budget.”

According to the official, the decision of the authorities to recognize the existence of coronavirus will not help many people, who are already sick, and the virus continues to spread at a high speed.

“We are waiting for the WHO delegation, so the country’s leadership had to admit the presence of coronavirus. If the infection is detected by WHO staff, then the whole world will know that all this time the Tajik authorities have been telling lies,” the official said. “But we must admit the fact that coronavirus has penetrated deeply into Tajikistan. Today we cannot solve this problem, and unfortunately, we will lose many people.”
