In the colonies and other institutions of the Main Directorate and the Execution of Sentences, the quarantine regime began to operate. On March 25, this was announced at a briefing by the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Shokhrukh Giyasov.
Visits are suspended to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. “Instead of visits, relatives are provided with telephone communications,” Giyasov said.
Facilities for staff, as well as places where prisoners spend a lot of time (dormitories, kitchens and rooms for events) are wet-cleaned and disinfected every 4 hours.
The preventive measures have also been taken in pre-trial detention centers to monitor the status of lawyers, investigators and law enforcement officials with signs of cold or flu. Depending on the situation, all procedures related to investigative actions can be transferred to remote mode. The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the officers of internal affairs bodies were allowed to conduct investigative actions via video communication.
