In Kazakhstan, teachers and doctors were given an excursion to prison

The Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency in Atyrau region arranged a jail tour for the local teachers and doctors. Such events, according to the Department, help eliminating corruption risks at the beginning.

Atyrau’s doctors and teachers were able to see with their own eyes what awaits them in prison if they get caught in bribes. Local corruption fighters gave them a guided tour to the pre-trial detention center and to the colony УГ-157/1. According to the head of the Prevention and Integrity Department under the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Atyrau region, Zhanibek Karazhanov, the tour was held for educational purposes.

“We want to show the heads of state bodies what corruption crimes and bribery lead to. Such excursions give an unforgettable impression and make people think about corruption,” Karazhanov explained.

It should be noted that teachers and doctors were not the first to experience such an exotic tour. Last week, anti-corruption fighters sent prison leaders of local executive bodies to jail.

According to Karazhanov, thanks to this know-how, officials were able to personally verify that they would be punished for committing corruption by the maximum severity of the law, regardless of their positions and ranks.

And the next, according to the Department’s plan, will be the heads of preschool institutions.
