In Kyrgyzstan, the head of Oktyabrsky district was detained for extortion

The official extorted $5280 (400 000 KGS) from the businessman for not terminating the lease contract for the sand and gravel quarry. This was reported by the Financial Police of Kyrgyzstan.

On January 30, 2020, officers of the Financial Police in Alamudun and Issyk-Ata districts of the Chui region during the investigation and operational activities, on suspicion of extorting a bribe in the amount of $5000 (350 000 KGS), the head of the Oktyabrsky rural district of Chui region was detained red-handed.

The detainee was imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention in investigative isolation ward No.1.
