In Kyrgyzstan, police officers were detained when receiving a bribe

A woman appealed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with a request to take measures in relation to the local police officer of Pervomaisky district of Bishkek, who extorts money from her.

It is reported that the district police officer demanded $145 (10 000 KGS) from a citizen for a positive solution to the issue of pre-trial proceedings on the fact of disorderly conduct.

“On February 24, 2020, during the operational-investigative measures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the territory of the Children’s Hospital No.3 in Bishkek, two district police officers of Pervomaisky district police department were detained when receiving $100 (7000 KGS),” the Interior Ministry said.

This fact was registered in the Unified Register of Misconduct and Crime under Article 326 “Extortion of a bribe” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
