In Kyrgyzstan, suspects of assaulting journalist Bolot Temirov were detained

On January 14, 2020, four attackers were detained by employees of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital on suspicion of an attack on the chief editor of Factcheck Bolot Temirov.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the oldest of the attackers is 28 years old. All of them are natives of Jalal-Abad region.

“In accordance with article 98 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the above suspects were placed in the temporary detention center of the City Police Department of Bishkek on suspicion of committing a crime under article 201, part 2, paragraph 1.2, part 3, paragraph 3 “Robbery committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy using violence” of the Criminal Code”, the Interior Ministry informed.

Currently, investigative steps are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the crime. If all circumstances are clarified during the pre-trial proceedings, the issue of additional qualifications for the actions of suspected persons will be considered.

Recall, on January 9, 2020, Bolot Temirov, the editor-in-chief of the Factcheck website, made a written statement to the Department of Internal Affairs of Pervomaisky district of Bishkek about taking measures against three unknown persons who attacked him.
