In Kazakhstan, another official is suspected of corruption

According to the version of the Anti-Corruption Department of Kazakhstan, almost $40 thousand was received as bribes by the head of the Department of culture, archives and documentation of Akmola region from a local entrepreneur.

As noted in the message of the Anti-Corruption Agency, the official received bribes regularly for six months (from May to October 2019). They were a reward for signing acts of re-exposure of the Akmola Regional museum of local lore and the Museum named after M. Gabdullin in the framework of the State Program “Rukhani Zhangyru”. The total amount of bribes, according to the estimates of anti-corruption fighters, was $38.8 thousand.

On October 28, the head of the department was caught red-handed while receiving the remaining amount of the bribe in the amount of $14.7 thousand. The suspect was detained red-handed and placed in a temporary detention center in Kokshetau.

Recall that the state program “Rukhani Zhangyru” was initiated by the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev in April 2017. The program is aimed at modernizing the consciousness of society and each Kazakh citizen, preserving national identity, the evolutionary development of the country, etc.
