Kazakhstan is looking for the most honest person

On November 1, a competition for the title of the most honest citizen of the country will start in Kazakhstan. The initiator of the competition is the First Anti-Corruption Media Center. The competition was called “Adal tұlғa”, that in Kazakh language means “Honest face”.

Any citizen of the Republic who has a Facebook account can nominate a candidate for the title of the most honest person.

“The distinction can be given to a public figure, civil servant, journalist, law enforcement officer, teacher, medical worker, scientist, lawyer, anti-corruption fighter, judge,” the First Anti-Corruption Media Center website says. “If you know a person who contributes to the fight against corruption, adheres to the principles of honesty, integrity and justice, tell us about him/her.”

9 days are given for the nomination of candidates. On November 10, voting among users will start, which will help to identify winners in 10 categories.

Awarding of the competition’s winners is scheduled for December 9 on the International Day against Corruption. The ceremony, which will bring together the leaders of the “Anti-corruption twenty – A20”, ambassadors of foreign countries, as well as members of the Anti-corruption hub of entrepreneurs of Turkic-speaking countries, will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan.

As noted in the First Anti-Corruption Media Center, in addition to 10 honest citizens, the awards will also be awarded to media representatives and journalists separately, who contributed to the fight against bribery and the formation of an anti-corruption culture.

“Nominees will also be known among civil activists, lawyers, public associations that have shown their intransigence to corruption,” the media center added. “Also the best anti-corruption project of the year will be named.”
