In Kazakhstan, head of national company is suspected of corruption

The Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan is conducting a pre-trial investigation against the general director of the Corporate Social Development Fund of the national company Social and Entrepreneurial Corporation “Pavlodar”, Bakhytriza Dusembaev.

As noted in the message, Dusembaev is suspected of “receiving a bribe in the amount of $1295 (of the previously agreed $2590) from entrepreneurs for concluding an agreement on the provision of services for the assessment of an unfinished social object”.

At the moment, the general director of the SEC “Pavlodar” has been detained and placed in a temporary detention center of the police department of Pavlodar city.

It should be noted that this is not the first detention of Bakhytriza Dusembaev. In October 2013, anti-corruption activists suspected him of abuse of power. In particular, Dusembaev was accused of purchasing five overpriced Gasel cars for the transportation of goods of the stabilization food fund of Pavlodar region. As a result of his actions, the SEC “Pavlodar” suffered damage worth more than $6.5 thousand. However, later the charges against Dusembaev were dropped because the anti-corruption officials did not find a corpus delicti in his actions.

Corporate social development fund “Pavlodar” is a subsidiary of the national company Social and Entrepreneurial Corporation “Pavlodar”.

The fund was created to implement and finance social projects in Pavlodar region. At the moment, the fund is financing the construction of the museum, sports center and pool.
