In Kyrgyzstan, director of the capital’s airport confessed to money laundering

The previously detained director of Bishkek branch of Manas Airport pleaded guilty to the fact of removal of $5 million and made a deal with the investigation. It is reported by the Financial Police.

During the pre-trial proceedings on the fact of the removal of $5 million from Public corporation “Manas International Airport” (state share – 79.5%), the director of the capital’s branch of Manas International Airport was detained and placed in the temporary detention center of the Bishkek Central Department of Internal Affairs.

On October 2, he was notified that he is suspected of committing a crime under article 205 of part 3 of paragraph 1 “Assignment or embezzlement of entrusted property” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

At the same time, during the investigation, the suspect fully admitted guilt and expressed a desire to cooperate with the investigation. On the part of the suspect, the investigation obtained valuable evidence against other participants and organizers of this crime.

In connection with the above circumstances, in the interests of the investigation aimed at solving the crime, establishing all the circumstances of the case and compensating the damage caused to the state, the investigation made a motion to apply a preventive measure in relation to the above-mentioned person of criminal case in the form of house arrest; the court granted the petition.

We add that on the basis of the request from the investigating authorities of the Financial police, the director of the capital’s branch of Manas International Airport was removed from his post by the court decision.
