In Kyrgyzstan, deputy prosecutor of Jeti-Oguz district was detained for extortion

The deputy prosecutor of Jeti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region, and the investigator of the Department of Internal Affairs of the region were detained red-handed while transferring money.

It was established that the deputy prosecutor, in collusion with the investigator, extorted about $1500 from the Kyrgyz citizen for terminating the criminal investigation against him.

The victim addressed to the authorities and said that he had given the extortioners about $ 1000.

In order to prove the fact that officials received a bribe, a special operation was carried out in the village of Kyzyl-Suu, as a result of which the deputy prosecutor and investigator, who acted as an intermediary in receiving the bribe, were detained red-handed while transferring money.

Materials of pre-trial proceedings are registered in the Unified Register of crimes and misconduct on the grounds of crimes specified in the Article 326 “Extortion of a bribe” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The detainees were placed in the temporary detention center of the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Corresponding investigative and operational measures are being carried out.
