The fact of embezzlement of budgetary funds, which were allocated for conducting special tactical exercises, was revealed. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the results of an audit conducted by the Military Prosecutor’s Office in the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, facts of theft of budget money (allocated for the preparation and conduct of a special tactical exercise) were revealed.
“It was established that in June 2022, when purchasing goods for the exercise, the responsible officials of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, by filling out fictitious documents and inflating prices, bought inventory items that didn’t meet the requirements of the technical specification. As a result, the state suffered damage in the amount of more than $12,000 (1 million KGS),” the Prosecutor General’s Office informs.
On this fact, the Military Prosecutor’s Office initiated a criminal case on the grounds of crimes under Article 337 part 2 “Abuse of official position”, Article 210 part 2 of paragraph 1 and part 4 of paragraph 2 “Assignment and embezzlement of entrusted property” and Article 346 part 1 “Official forgery” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The investigation is underway.
