Kazakhstan: Tracking system was found on the car of a well-known journalist

Well-known Kazakhstani journalist, social activist, correspondent of the republican newspaper “Vremya” [“Time”] Sandugash Duysenova reported that unknown persons were following her.

It was by pure chance that the fact of surveillance was discovered. The car belonging to the journalist began to work strangely while driving. Duysenova thought that there was a problem with the running gear and drove the car to the service station for diagnostics. Service station workers found an attached device on a magnetic basis on the rear gearbox. Apparently, during the movement, the device moved from its original attachment point and began to touch the grenade, which is why there were problems during the operation of the car.

A SIM card issued by a Kazakh mobile operator was found in the device. According to Duysenova, this device is nothing more than a GPS tracker that allows to track the location of the car.

“I have only seen such devices in foreign films,” the journalist says. “I didn’t harm anyone. I didn’t install this device. It looks like I was being followed. I’m really scared!”

At the same time, Duysenova emphasized that the previous owners of the car live in America, and, as mentioned above, the device has a Kazakh SIM card installed. Consequently, it was installed on the car after the car was delivered to Kazakhstan.

It should be noted that Sandugash Duysenova put forward her candidacy for the presidency of Kazakhstan in the upcoming snap elections to be held on November 20.

“Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, I support you and will compete with you! To create a fair Kazakhstan, not only a new trust mandate of the people is needed, but new faces are also needed! With old personnel, New Kazakhstan cannot be built! Therefore, I am ready to put forward my candidacy for the presidency!” Duysenova said at the beginning of the election campaign.

The journalist was going to run as a candidate from Ak Zhol party. However, party members at an extraordinary congress voted unanimously to nominate incumbent President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as their candidate.

“That’s why they didn’t let me in for the presidency of Kazakhstan!” Duysenova summed up, having discovered a tracking device.
