Kyrgyzstan: SuperTV journalist was beaten by unidentified people

Unknown people beat and robbed SuperTV journalist Baktursun Dzhorobekov in Bishkek. This was reported on social networks by his relatives.

According to them, on the evening of October 26, an unknown person called the victim and tried to find out his whereabouts. Then, when the young man was leaving the pharmacy, unknown persons approached him and, without any explanation, began to beat him.

The attackers recognized the young man as a journalist from SuperTV, but this didn’t stop them. The journalist lost consciousness from his injuries. When he was in an unconscious state, the attackers robbed Dzhorobekov. They took away his phone and about $50 (3.5 thousand KGS).

It is known that on the fact of the attack, the journalist wrote a statement to the Department of Internal Affairs of Leninsky district of Bishkek. The fact was registered in the Register of crimes under Article 206, part 2, paragraph 2 “Robbery” of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan.

Whether the attack was connected with the professional activities of Baktursun Dzhorobekov in SuperTV is unknown.
