Previously, similar searches were carried out in the houses of many members of the committee for the protection of Kempir-Abad, created the day before, after which detention orders were issued against activists and politicians. As a result, at the moment, 21 people have been placed in the temporary detention center under the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Bishkek and the districts of Chui region.
Employees of the National Center for the Prevention of Torture visited the TDF of the Main Department of Internal Affairs.

On October 24, about 300 citizens of the republic gathered in the main square in Bishkek in support of the detained politicians and activists, as well as against the transfer of Kempir-Abad reservoir to Uzbekistan.
It’s worth recalling that in early October it became known that the authorities of Kyrgyzstan intend to transfer Kempir-Abad reservoir (in Osh region) to Uzbekistan. The area of land under the reservoir is 4,485 hectares. After lowering the level of the horizontal volume of water, 1,246 hectares were released, which should go to Kyrgyzstan.
Despite all the assurances of the authorities of the republic that this decision was due to the interests of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan, residents of Osh region opposed the transfer of the reservoir to a neighboring country.
