Kyrgyzstan: 32 criminal cases were initiated on violations in the Ministry of Energy with damage of $11 million

As a result of offenses committed by individual employees of the Ministry of Energy, the state suffered damage in the amount of $269,170 (22 million KGS). In criminal cases, the total damage is $10,876,946 (889 million KGS). This is reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic, during the ongoing scheduled inspection in the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and its subordinate structural organizations, revealed systematic violations of laws, failure to comply with the requirements of the decrees of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, decisions of the Security Council of the Republic.

“On the revealed violations of normative legal acts, the prosecution authorities of the republic submitted 132 acts of prosecutorial response and $ 269,170 (22 million 150.2 thousand KGS) were reimbursed to the state,” the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.

In addition, on the grounds of crimes committed by certain officials of the Ministry of Energy and its structural subdivisions, 32 criminal cases were initiated. The total revealed amount of damage for which is $10,876,946 (889 million 54.2 thousand KGS).

It’s worth adding that earlier the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that two criminal cases had been opened against the Minister of Energy. Both facts are related to abuse of office.
