Kyrgyzstan: Two criminal cases were initiated against the Minister of power engineering

Two criminal cases were initiated against the Minister of power engineering of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Both facts are related to the abuse of official position.

“In 2021-2022, Minister of power engineering of Kyrgyzstan Doskul Bekmurzaev, abusing his official position, sent employees who are not specialists in the relevant field, at the expense of the state budget, on foreign business trips to the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Russia. As a result, the state suffered significant material damage,” the Prosecutor General’s Office explains.

In addition, Bekmurzaev, abusing his official position, caused damage to the company in the amount of more than $183,150 (15 million KGS) during the overhaul of the facilities of the health complex “Teplye Klyuchi” [“Warm springs”].

As a result, the criminal acts of the Minister of power engineering of Kyrgyzstan led to a gross violation of the interests of the state and private individuals, who suffered major damage.
