Kazakhstan: Two police chiefs were detained for taking a bribe

The Anti-Corruption Service of Kazakhstan detained two police chiefs in Kostanay region on suspicion of taking a bribe.

As noted in the message of the Department, the head of the Police department of Denisovsky district Yerbol Shoshakov, the head of the local police service and another policeman demanded $6.2 thousand from local businessman Vladimir Shuller (the head of the company “Prirechenskoye”) for the company’s equipment to move around the district without problems.

Prirechenskoye is engaged in cattle farming, meat processing, bread production and oilseeds cultivation.

“In relation to the head of the local police service, house arrest has already been sanctioned. For the head of the District Police department, a measure of restraint has not yet been chosen,” the Anti-Corruption Agency informed in its statement.
