Kyrgyzstan: 17 kg of drugs were seized from a member of the People’s Chamber kurultay against corruption

A member of the People’s Chamber of Kurultay [Congress] against corruption is suspected of drug trafficking. This is reported by the State Committee for National Security.

He was detained along with two other suspects.

The detention took place on September 8 in Osh region. During a special operation to curb the activities of an international drug group that transports Afghan hashish on an especially large scale along the Tajikistan-Kyrgyzstan route.

17 kg 192 grams of hashish were confiscated from the detainees by the SCNS officers.

The detainees were placed in the temporary detention center under the Main Directorate of the State Committee for National Security for the city of Osh and Osh region. The investigation is ongoing.
