Kyrgyzstan: An investigator of the Prosecutor General’s Office was detained on the fact of the sale of factory lands

On September 5, the State Committee for National Security, together with the Military Prosecutor’s Office, detained an investigator for especially important cases of the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan.

The detention took place in the course of ongoing work to identify, prevent and suppress corruption in the Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation established that the latter organized the illegal sale of 62 hectares of land in Sokoluk district, owned by Bishkek Machine-Building Plant (OJSC). The plots were sold to them for the construction of private houses.

“As part of the criminal case under Article 336 of part 3 “Corruption” of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, the investigator for especially important cases of the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility under the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security for further investigative and operational measures,” the State Committee reports.

It’s worth adding that earlier on the fact of corruption during the illegal alienation of the indicated land plots of Bishkek Machine-Building Plant OJSC, a senior prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office and a former employee of the plant were detained.
