Kyrgyzstan: The number of crimes on misappropriation of state property has doubled

For seven months, 74 crimes of misappropriation and embezzlement of entrusted property were registered in Kyrgyzstan. This is 1.8 times more than in the same period in 2021.

In general, there is a slight decrease in crimes in the republic. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, their number decreased by 0.5% (to 27.4 thousand cases).

Betterment in statistics is observed for serious and less serious crimes. For example, the number of cases of rape and attempted rape decreased by 2.2 times, and by 2.5% – of murders and attempted murder. At the same time, the number of crimes against a person increased by 31.3%.

As for the offenses committed by officials, there is some dissimilar statistics. Thus, abuse of official position from 1066 cases in January-July of this year decreased to 536 cases, abuse of power – to 18 cases (-87.2%), bribery – by 33.62%.

At the same time, the number of crimes related to misappropriation and embezzlement of entrusted property has almost doubled (from 42 to 74).
