Another activist from Gorno-Badakhshan was detained in Moscow. Maksud Gayosov, a civil activist and blogger from Badakhshan, who flew to Russia after the authorities began detaining civil activists in the Pamirs, has been living in a rented apartment in Moscow for six months now.
On August 17, the police came to him and took him away in an unknown direction. The Moscow police do not publish any statements about the detention of Gaesov, however, the blogger’s relatives and friends believe that he has already been handed over to the Tajik Ministry of Internal Affairs, who illegally carry out operational-search activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Gayosov is the author of the satirical blog Bobingy on Instagram. After the November events of last year in GBAO, Gayosov began to actively oppose the policy of the authorities in this mountainous region, supporting informal leaders and civil protests.
Gayosov’s relatives believe that the detention of Maksud is connected with his civil position.
Relatives of another activist Ruslan Pulodbekov say they have not been able to find him since July 29. Ruslan was kept in the Temporary Detention Facility in Moscow for violating the rules of stay in the Russian Federation.
Pulodbekov, a native of GBAO, was a close friend of Amriddin Alovatshoev, and according to his relatives, he went with him as a bodyguard, never making public statements.
Amriddin Alovatshoev is the leader of the Pamir diaspora in Moscow and it is believed that it was he who organized mass protest rallies against the lawlessness of the authorities in the Pamirs near the Tajik embassy in Russia. At the end of January, he was illegally deported to Dushanbe, and already in April, he was convicted under five articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan for a term of 18 years in prison.
Pulodbekov’s relatives are sure that the Russian security forces illegally handed over Ruslan to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, who took him along with the Vazirbekov brothers to Dushanbe.
Recall that on July 29, Oraz and Ramzi Vazirbekov landed at Domodedovo Airport from Yekaterinburg and did not contact their relatives anymore. The next day, a video appeared on the YouTube channel where the two brothers say that they “voluntarily returned to Tajikistan and are ready to answer all the questions of the investigation.”
