Kyrgyzstan: Deputy Head of the Department “Kyrgyzkurortourism” detained on the fact of corruption

He is suspected of organizing a criminal scheme for the illegal withdrawal of funds from a state institution for the purpose of personal enrichment.

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, as a result of the operational search activities, within the framework of the criminal case, it was established that the deputy head of the Kyrgyzkurortourism Department under the Federation of Trade Unions of Kyrgyzstan organized a criminal scheme for the illegal withdrawal of funds from the institution for the purpose of personal enrichment.

He served as director of the Jalal-Abad sanatorium from 2012 to 2021.

“As a result of criminal actions, the state suffered damage in the amount of more than $506,000 (42 million soms),” the press service of the State Committee for National Security reports.

At present, the former director has been detained and placed in a temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan. An investigation is underway.
