Kyrgyzstan: Police open criminal case against political activist Aizhan Myrsan

The Department of Internal Affairs of the Oktyabrsky district of Bishkek opened a criminal case against activist Aizhan Myrsan. This is reported to the Department of Internal Affairs.

She is suspected of committing a crime under part 1 of article 330 “Inciting racial, ethnic hatred” of the Criminal Code.

We are talking about her Tik-Tok account, where on March 16 she allegedly posted a video with a statement aimed at inciting ethnic hatred.

As part of the criminal case, a comprehensive, religious and linguistic expertise was appointed.

“According to the conclusion, Myrsan’s statements are aimed at inciting ethnic, national, religious or interregional hatred, the humiliation of national dignity, the inferiority of citizens on the basis of their attitude to religion, nationality or race,” the Department of Internal Affairs says.

On July 23, the activist, accompanied by lawyers, arrived at the investigative office, where she took part in the necessary procedural actions. At this time, the investigation of the criminal case is ongoing, the results of which will be announced later.

Aizhan Myrsan herself believes that “this is an order and they want to remove me.”
