Kazakhstan: Nazarbayev sells his holiday home in the capital for $7.5 million

A lot about the urgent sale of a three-story 7-room house on Aigolek Street, 16 kilometers from the presidential residence “Akorda”, appeared on a website for the sale of real estate in Kazakhstan.

The selling price of the house is $7.5 million. The ad states that the house was built in 2019. Total area – 1600 sq.m. 100 acres of land adjoining the house. There is a shed, a bathhouse, a sauna, a garage, outbuildings, a garden, and a veranda.

“THE GREAT RESIDENCE. The owners built for themselves, and builders and designers were invited from Italy. Swimming pool Olympic, Autonomous station on the latest technologies. The house has a very expensive piano, for amateurs. Neo-classic house design. On the territory, there is a second guest house in the Chalet style. A plot of 1 hectare with its own garden or forest plantation and a pier on the Nura River! – says the description of the ad.

Meanwhile, the location of this house coincides with the location of the vacation home of the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, discovered by the Kazakhstani Corruption Investigation Bureau in April 2022. By the way, the fund bureau found out that the house is also equipped with a helipad and a tennis court, as well as a “beach area” on the banks of the Ishim River.

It is noteworthy that the title documents state that Nursultan Nazarbayev is the owner of the land plot, but the intended purpose of the land plot is the operation of a holiday house.

If the house is state-owned, then the question is quite logical – how can it be put up for sale? However, the fact remains.

Kazakhstanis are already joking about this, that Nazarbayev, abandoned by relatives and associates, apparently became very tight with money, that he decided to sell his house. But there is another version: the money from the sale will go to the budget in a return for money stolen by the relatives of the former president.
