On July 2, one of the residents of the city of Ashgabat died at her home, she was 56 years old. A 13-year-old girl died the day before. According to ACCA sources, both deceased were forcibly brought to the celebrations dedicated to the birthday of ex-President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The celebrations were held on June 28 and 29. Several thousand people were forcibly driven to the event under threats, and the air temperature warmed up to almost +50 degrees. In such conditions and open areas, people were kept for 5-6 hours.
According to ACCA sources, after that, more than six hundred people turned to hospitals for medical assistance. These are mainly employees of budgetary organizations, students, and artists. Some of the victims were taken to hospitals in critical condition.
The deceased woman and girl were also taken to the hospital in critical condition, they could not be provided with emergency medical care. According to one of the doctors, “they burned out because, during a sunstroke, a person’s body temperature rises sharply, and the doctors could not bring down the temperature of a girl and a woman.” The casualties were simply taken home, as the doctors were ordered not to spoil the statistics and the birthday of ex-President Berdimuhamedov.
According to our sources, the girl became ill even before the start of the celebrations and her nose bled, but wet wipes were shoved up her nose and one of the organizers forced her to continue to stand in the sun. She was taken to the hospital after the girl started vomiting and lost consciousness.
The prosecutor’s office did not open criminal cases and did not investigate the death of two people. None of the event organizers and doctors were held accountable.
