Kyrgyzstan: The oppositionist was summoned to the State Committee for National Security after demanding the resignation of Tashiev

Oppositionist Ravshan Jeenbekov was summoned to the State Committee for National Security after he replied to the head of the special services on Facebook that he, only having power, could put pressure on him.

It all started with the death of political scientist Marat Kazakpaev. On the day of the funeral, politician Ravshan Jeenbekov wrote on his Facebook page, “Kazakpaev was killed by investigators, the State Committee for National Security, prosecutors, courts and the authorities.”

In response to the post on social networks, the head of the State Committee for National Security threatened the oppositionist for such statements. Tashiev called the version of the politician that the security forces deliberately refused to provide Kazakpaev with access to medical care untenable. The head of the State Committee for National Security also reminded Jeenbekov of the country’s criminal liability for disseminating false information.

Ravshan Jeenbekov responded to Tashiev on social networks so that he resigned, since the death of Kazakpaev was on his conscience. And this is just one of the crimes he committed. After this publication, Jeenbekov was summoned to the State Committee for National Security. The politician announced this to his subscribers on social networks.

“I have been waiting since morning near the Pervomaiskiy Court, but they found me elsewhere. I am going to the State Committee for National Security on the instructions of Kamchibek Tashiev by 18:00,” the oppositionist wrote.

Officially, the purpose of summoning Ravshan Jeenbekov to the State Committee for National Security is to warn and explain that false information shouldn’t be disseminated.

It’s worth recalling that political scientist Marat Kazakpaev, who was arrested on charges of treason, died without regaining consciousness in the hospital, where he was taken from the cell of the pre-trial detention center under the State Committee for National Security. Then the opposition demanded that the President take action in connection with the death of the political scientist. In particular, they stated the need for a thorough and objective investigation into the fact of initiating a criminal case against Kazakpaev, investigative red tape and failure to provide timely medical assistance. They also called for the head of the State Committee for National Security and the Prosecutor General’s Office to be held accountable, up to the dismissal of Kamchibek Tashiev from his office.
