Kyrgyzstan: A judge from Naryn region was detained while taking a bribe

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Prosecutor General’s Office, within the framework of a criminal case, recorded the fact of extortion and receipt of funds by a judge of the District Court of Jumgal and a deputy prosecutor of Jumgal district.

 The latter was caught red-handed.

“On May 23, a criminal case was initiated against the judge under Article 343 of the Criminal Code “Extortion of a bribe” for further prosecution,” the press service of the State Committee reports.

These officials extorted money from a citizen for the termination of a criminal case being considered in the District Court of Jumgal.

Currently, the deputy prosecutor has been placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security for a period of two months.
