The ex-head of the Department of the state inspection for veterinary and phytosanitary safety Tolon Yrsaliev was detained while returning part of the money, received earlier as a bribe, to the entrepreneur. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security.
As explained, in 2016, Yrsaliev received $70,000 from a foreign businessman. In return, he promised to help with the issue of permits for the export of donkeys from Kyrgyzstan to China. But in fact, he didn’t provide the entrepreneur with any documents and didn’t return the money. This fact was registered in the Unified Register on the grounds of a crime under Article 342 “Taking a bribe” of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan.
“On May 14, 2022, when returning part of the money to the entrepreneur, Yrsaliev was detained red-handed by the State Committee for National Security and placed in a pre-trial detention center of the SCNS of the Kyrgyz Republic. As it became known, the detainee is currently an adviser to the first deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev,” the report says.
Currently, a complex of investigative and operational measures is being carried out to identify all the persons involved in the commission of this crime.
After reports of Yrsaliev’s detention appeared, the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers fired his assistant; he announced this on his Facebook page.
