Starting from February 1, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan will be fully supervised by the Ministry of National Security. ACCA sources said, “In each region, an employee will work in the representative offices of the Ministry of Education, who will report to the employees of the Ministry of National Security.”
As it became known to ACCA, from now on, schools will periodically conduct searches of students and the contents of their bags. At the moment, teachers collect and update the data of students and their parents, thus making lists of students: name, surname, phone number and email address; parents’ data: name, surname, phone number and email address.
All this data is collected to monitor students and their parents in social networks. Parents of students are told that there will allegedly be electronic gradebooks, although parents can look at their child’s grades in mark books and notebooks.
Our sources said that in the country, many Internet users use two-factor authentication through email confirmation. Residents of the country know that SMS are viewed and read by intelligence officers. The special services are also interested in who and under what nickname is hiding in social networks.
Our source close to the Ministry of Education said that no electronic gradebooks are being created and there are no such plans in the coming years. This work of the special services began after the events in Kazakhstan and now haunts the authorities of Turkmenistan. The state media doesn’t cover this topic in any way.
