Kyrgyzstan: Deputies took the initiative to adopt a law on foreign agents

At a regular meeting of the Parliament, the deputies proposed to adopt a law on foreign agents. This initiative was made by the elected representative of the people Nadira Narmatova.

According to her, the bill will concern the activities of non-governmental and non-profit organizations that are financed from abroad.

“Until we adopt such a law, there will be no peace in the country. Organizations with foreign funding have an impact on domestic politics in Kyrgyzstan,” the deputy emphasized.

Narmatova recalled that the bill was developed several years ago and was approved in two readings. However, due to the fact that deputies of the new convocation came to Parliament, the adoption of the bill was suspended.

It’s worth adding that earlier some civil activists supported the adoption of the bill.
